SAS Grid/SAS VIYA Admin for a 12-month contract position with a leading client in Columbus, OH. This role must be local to Columbus, OH or Minneapolis, MN.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced SAS Platform Engineer with deep expertise in migrating from SAS 9.4 M7 Grid (RHEL Linux) to SAS Viya 4 (cloud-based or on-prem). This role demands strong hands-on experience in both environments, with a focus on end-to-end migration planning, infrastructure setup, troubleshooting, and post-migration platform administration. The ideal candidate is someone who has successfully led or played a key role in enterprise-scale SAS migrations and understands the nuances of both platforms.

Job Duties:

Lead or support the migration of SAS 9.4 Grid (M7) running on RHEL Linux to SAS Viya 4

Assess existing SAS Grid environment and design optimal migration strategy to Viya

Perform platform installation, configuration, and integration of SAS GRID 9.4/Viya 4

Set up user access, authentication (LDAP/SAML/SSO), and security controls in both environments

Coordinate with infrastructure and AWS cloud team for provisioning and deployment

Monitor performance, optimize resources, and troubleshoot system-level issues across both platforms

Collaborate with SAS developers, business users, and IT stakeholders to ensure smooth transition

Create detailed documentation and runbooks for both migration and ongoing support Required Skills:

5+ years of SAS platform administration experience

Hands-on experience with SAS 9.4 M7 Grid on RHEL Linux

Proven expertise with SAS Viya 4 administration and architecture

Deep understanding of SAS compute, CAS server configuration, and Viya services

Familiarity with tools like Ansible, Terraform, or shell scripting for automation (a plus)

Experience with cloud-based deployments (e.g., AWS) is strongly preferred

Strong understanding of SAS licensing, security setup, and resource management

Excellent communication and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with large-scale migrations from SAS 9.4 to SAS Viya

Knowledge of containerized deployments (Kubernetes, Docker)

SAS Certified Platform Administrator credentials (9.4 and/or Viya)

Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps integration for SAS environments
