JOB TITLE: Human Resources Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Manager provides leadership and oversight of all human resources
function for K-12 public school district in accordance with district policy, Mississippi state law,
and regulations established by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE). This position
ensures full compliance with state and federal employment laws while supporting recruitment,
licensure verification, employee relations, benefits administration, performance malmanagement,
and workforce development. The HR Manager plays a critical role in maintaining a legally complaint, equitable, and student-
focused workforce aligned with district goals and Mississippi accountability standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Human
Resources, Business Administration, or related field and/or a valid MS
educator license,
2. Minimum of five (5) years in employee benefits, employee benefits,
performance management employee selection process, performance
appraisal, and/or training with a minimum of five (5) years school
administration experience preferred.
3. Knowledge of overall operation of public-school districts including
personnel requirements, school staffing, and functions of the MS
Department of Education preferred.
Certifications: (preferred/not required)
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
PHR or SPHR Skills & Competencies
Maintain accurate HR systems, reporting and accountability
Experience working in a professional office setting. Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook):
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including education-related regulations;
Knowledge of educator licensure requirements and certification processes (preferred);
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills;
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information;
REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Superintendent's Designee
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
12 months; Full-time (40 hours/week)
