First Grade Instructor

POSITION AND BUILDING: Elementary Instructor - 1st Grade at Baker Elementary

EFFECTIVE DATE: 2026-2027 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate Pennsylvania Certification

SALARY: As per the Professional Collective Bargaining Agreement

This position is responsible for facilitating student learning in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, health, physical education, art, and/or music in accordance with the district's curriculum framework, board policy, administrative regulations, and state law. Other responsibilities include creating a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishing an effective rapport with pupils; motivating pupils to develop the foundational skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for secondary education; and establishing good relationships with parents and with other staff members.

This position is required to conduct business in a professional and cordial manner that will uphold the integrity and reputation of the Altoona Area School District (AASD). This position maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to the policies, regulations, and procedures of AASD.
