The primary responsibility of this position will be to start-up and set-up the extrusion operations, monitor and maintain the operations while running and shutdown and perform minor maintenance on the line as needed. The goal will be to keep the extrusion lines running continuously and efficiently while producing a product that meets or exceeds our customers' expectations.
Schedule: 3-4 days per week 7:20pm-7:30am. No weekends!
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to the following:
Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures
Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
Set and Start-up extruders
Install dies using hand and power tools
Regulate Vacuum, Air pressure, Sizing rolls, temperature, and Synchronize speed of extruder to produce a quality product.
Adjust speed, temperature, raw material flow to produce a quality product within Westlake specs.
Examine product for defects and correct them.
Measure the product to ensure it is within Westlake Specs.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school or GED equivalent
One year of manufacturing experience
Knowledge of extrusion process
Mechanical aptitude
Must be able to work at 12 hour shift
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolong standing or in stationary position
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles
Complete repetitive movements such as seizing, holding, grasping, tuning, or otherwise using hand or hands using the whole arm
Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
Complete repetitive movements such as picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers and wrists
Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, and hardhat protection)
Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times and steel toed shoes. Long pants are required. Temperatures, although maintained, can be affected by outside weather conditions.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $21.06-$30.83/hour. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits).
