Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Pharmacist for an Onsite position with a Major Healthcare Services Company located in Lorain, OH or Sandusky, OH. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This role is responsible for evaluating, preparing, and dispensing medications while providing excellent customer service and clinical care. The ideal candidate will interact closely with patients to address questions regarding medication therapy and work collaboratively with medical staff to ensure appropriate care plans. This position will cover schedule openings as needed, with the potential for more full-time coverage initially.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate, prepare, and dispense medications according to professional standards and legal requirements
Provide excellent customer service and clinical care to patients
Interact with patients to answer questions and concerns regarding their medication therapy
Review and evaluate patient's plan of care for therapeutic appropriateness
Consult with prescribers and other medical staff to determine appropriate medical/prescription care plans
Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the ambulatory pharmacy
Assist in the fiscal management of the ambulatory pharmacy to optimize profits and control expenses
Assist with managing ambulatory pharmacy technicians, including hiring, training, and performance management
Monitor staff performance to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies
Maintain procedures concerning quality improvement, quality assurance, and security of controlled substances
Submit, review, and handle adjudicated prescription claims
Promptly respond to and resolve escalated patient inquiries and issues
Operate the point-of-sale system
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree or Pharm D degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Current, unrestricted Ohio pharmacist license
One (1) to three (3) years of directly related retail/ambulatory care pharmacy experience
Broad training and/or experience in business administration, sales, marketing, or information technology
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Desired skills:
Knowledge of the 340b drug program is a plus
Pay range: up to $60.40 per hour
