Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes to drive efficiency and performance. This role plays a critical part in establishing production best practices and ensuring daily operations meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and improve production processes, materials, and equipment
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams
Lead and participate in initiatives to improve labor efficiency and reduce costs
Develop plant layouts and optimize product flow using tools such as value stream mapping and bottleneck analysis
Implement lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, JIT, visual management systems)
Design, procure, and maintain production tooling, fixtures, and equipment
Troubleshoot manufacturing and design-related issues and implement effective solutions
Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Support new product introduction (NPI) from prototype through production
Prepare technical documentation, work instructions, and process reports
Lead process capability studies and continuous improvement projects (Six Sigma, Value Engineering)
Train and support operators and technicians as needed
Manage non-conformance investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certification preferred
5+ years of experience in high-tech manufacturing environments
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience with high-mix, low-volume production and pilot builds
Hands-on expertise in CNC machining, MIG/TIG welding, and sheet metal fabrication
Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments
Proficiency with CAD software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools (Excel, Python)
Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
