Job Description

The QA/QC Technician is responsible for executing Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities in compliance with applicable regulatory, customer, and industry standards. This role assists with implementing and maintaining quality policies, procedures, and material control systems to ensure consistent product quality across all stages of production, including mechanical, structural, piping, instrumentation, and electrical components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform quality control inspections for pipe, structural, instrumentation, and electrical fabrication and assembly operations.

Maintain records and documentation, including but not limited to ASME Section VIII Div. 1, API, applicable electrical standards, and customer ITPs.

Prepare and review quality data reports and inspection documentation.

Perform visual inspections of welds, materials, instrumentation, and electrical components.

NDE coordination including QC Techs and 3rd party vendors.

Review and interpret radiographic film and other NDE results.

Verify electrical installation, wiring, termination, labeling, and grounding meet approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Assist during customer audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party reviews.

Identify quality issues, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with operations, engineering, and management to ensure mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical quality requirements are clearly understood and met.

Qualifications

CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification – Required.

Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.

Experience working with ASME and API codes and standards.

Strong working knowledge of welding inspection and NDE methods.

Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership ability in enforcing quality standards and working cross-functionally.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment

Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb for extended periods throughout the workday.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to visually inspect welds, materials, and fabrication components, including close-up and distance viewing.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, heat, and outdoor conditions as required.

Ability to travel and work offsite on an occasional basis (less than 10%).
