Job purpose
Responsible for providing a high quality, person-centered, dining experience, preparing delicious meals in a clean environment, while staying within budget and following all state regulatory guidelines.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Contributes to the tone and standards for both person and relationship-centered care reflecting the corporate values of Vibrant Life Senior Living
supports resident care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual person in our care and other person in a position to understand care requirements.
contributes to a compassionate and vibrant environment, providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to the person, their friend, and families(mind, body, and spirit.
Establishes proficient in State regulations and other licensing requirements for the kitchen
Responsible for food orders, all food and kitchen inventory, food production, quality food preparation and food presentation, following the menu and timely service of the meals
Direct and supervises all dietary functions and dietary/care staff assistants.
Purchases food products from vendors approved by the Executive Director.
Maintains cost records and works to meet budget guidelines.
Assures that proper storage is available and that handling of food and supplies complies with current guidelines
Responsible for training and management of dietary staff
Responsible for maintaining a clean kitchen including doing dishes.
Responsible to be aware of dietary assessments on all new residents.
Prepares meals for residents
Works collegially with Nurse Manager and care staff on the dietary needs of individuals in the household
Partners with the Life Enrichment team to bring the vibrant Life Philosophy to life in the person with dementia and uses the dining experience and other food related activities within the community to support stimulating activities and engage people in meaningful relationships/
Assumes proper food sanitation and infection control procedures are adhered to at all time
Maintains individual and family member's confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
Maintains dietary/dining services supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies: placing and expediting orders for supplies: verifying receipt of supplies: using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
supervises kitchen staff
schedule all kitchen staff and cover shifts if a call off arises.
attend and participate in meetings and training.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
One year work experience as a dietary manager.
