Tooling Engineer (2312455)

Job Duties include: Develops CNC programs from models. Maintains solid works PDM tool cad models, drawings and ECR’s. Manages the tracking of tool life (CCR) performance, and all customer reporting on tool usage/life activities. Oversees tool shop’s quality and timing to support trials, and development needs. Oversees the change management process for tooling, including the link of ECR’s to die drawings, CAD models, Die Steel, and tool shops. Facilitates methods for quick die change. Analyzes tools at each PM interval and at the end of their life, including premature failure of tools, developing counter measures with the purpose of extending total throughput of the tool.

2 years of experience in tooling design, application, and management and demonstrated experience with: Solid Works for 3-D, 2-D design work, Auto CAD and PDM practices; 2D part print reading skills, including GD&T interpretations; Leading tool development, continuous improvement until end of expected life; Process control programs (CAM Programming of mills for repairs using HSM Works CAM program with SolidWorks programming) and measurement methods (caliper/micrometer layout tools in English and Metric measurements); Interrupting CMM scans and 3D scans of tooling to yield correct production characteristics; Tool building and machining tools (using CNC Mills and Lathes) and equipment; Die cast processes (over 2000 tons) and process control procedures; Magma mold flow simulation; and Manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field
