Job Role
ProgenyHealth is seeking an experienced Integration / Interoperability Solution Architect to join our Technology team. In this role, you will design, implement, and support scalable healthcare integration solutions across ProgenyHealth’s interoperability platform, including internal claims management systems.
You will be responsible for building and governing interoperability architectures that enable seamless data exchange across internal platforms, clients, partners, and external healthcare ecosystems. This role combines solution architecture, hands-on integration design, and stakeholder engagement to deliver modern, API-driven interoperability solutions in a delegated authority healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture & Design:
Lead the identification, definition, and documentation of solution architecture, technical design, and interface requirements through analysis of business and technical processes
Design end-to-end healthcare interoperability solutions, translating requirements into scalable architecture
Define architectural patterns, integration approaches, and technical standards aligned with modern API-first and FHIR-based ecosystems
Create and maintain architecture artifacts including:
Solution architecture diagrams
Data flow and system integration diagrams
Interface specifications and technical documentation
Healthcare Interoperability & Integration:
Design and implement integrations using:
HL7, FHIR, X12 (270/271, 278, 834), CCDA, and EDI standards
Develop and support FHIR APIs and RESTful web services
Support payer-to-payer integrations and utilization management workflows
Configure and support integrations using NextGen Mirth Connect or similar integration engines
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as a liaison between clients, product teams, engineering, and business stakeholders
Lead technical discussions with external partners on interface design and interoperability requirements
Provide architectural guidance to engineers, analysts, and QA teams
Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and solution reviews
Ensure clear communication and alignment across internal and external stakeholders
Production Support & Governance:
Provide architectural oversight for production interoperability solutions
Troubleshoot complex interface and data exchange issues
Monitor integration performance and recommend improvements
Identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities across workflows
Modern Technology & Platform Evolution:
Support cloud-based integrations, primarily within Azure environments
Contribute to the evolution of ProgenyHealth’s interoperability platform toward API-driven and FHIR-first architectures
Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance integration workflows where applicable Requirements:
Required Skills & Experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field
Healthcare Integration
Strong expertise in HL7, FHIR, X12, CCDA, and EDI
Experience designing and supporting healthcare interoperability solutions
Knowledge of utilization management workflows
Experience with payer or provider integrations
Technical Skills
RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services
Strong SQL proficiency
Experience with integration engines and development tools (NextGen Mirth Connect preferred)
Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
Production support and troubleshooting experience
Architecture & Solutioning
2–5 years of solution architecture or integration solutioning experience
Ability to design and deliver end-to-end integration solutions
Experience documenting functional and technical architectures
Strong understanding of SDLC and architectural governance
Preferred:
Healthcare payer or managed care experience
Experience integrating EHR platforms
Familiarity with HIE and healthcare data exchange ecosystems
Experience working in Agile environments
Exposure to AI / GenAI technologies
Experience with SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)

Compensation and Benefits
This position has a salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 annually based on relevant experience.
