Provides updates to the HR Sub-team and Leadership Board as requested
Position Overview:
The Preschool Administrator is responsible for envisioning, organizing, and implementing a high-quality preschool program. This role exists to engage preschool families in the life of PEACE Church while ensuring full compliance with Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 5101:2-12. This position leads, staffs, directs, and organizes a growing preschool ministry that seeks to transform children and their families into fully devoted followers of Christ.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership
Promote and support the mission of PEACE Church through the preschool program
Develop, implement, and evaluate annual ministry goals
Participate in at least one continuing education opportunity per year
Maintain and actively pursue a personal and professional growth plan
2. Staffing
Recruit, train, and supervise preschool staff and volunteers and support teachers in creating a developmentally appropriate, faith centered, learning environment
Lead through a collaborative, team-based ministry model and engage gifted individuals in preschool ministry
Provide spiritual guidance, professional development, and supervision for the Preschool staff
Maintain employee records, provide clear job descriptions, and ensure policies and procedures are followed
Communicate staffing needs to the supervisor
Assist in hiring processes with your supervisor, including interviews and background checks
Coordinate annual teacher planning sessions (August) to prepare for upcoming school year
Submit staff timesheets and tuition payments to the church office
Support teachers and parents in monitoring their student progress throughout the year
3. Direction & Daily Operations
Oversee all preschool ministry personnel and teams and manage daily preschool operations
Ensure the safety, care, and supervision of all children and safety procedures and emergency plans are followed
Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians
Serve in both administrative and teaching roles as needed
4. Organization & Administration
Ensure compliance with Ohio Child Care Licensing Rules and documentation requirements
Review and adjust tuition annually based on benchmarks with preschools in our area
Develop and manage the annual preschool budget with your supervisor and approved by the Leadership Board
Oversee fundraising efforts
· Register children and maintain a complete file for each student, including all state required forms, enrollment documents, medical/immunization records, emergency contacts, incident reports, and signed confirmation of receiving the preschool handbook
Update parent and teacher handbooks and Emergency Preparedness Plan annually
Maintain secure records for a minimum of three years
Welcome prospective families and provide tours of the preschool
Plan and coordinate special events, field trips, and organize parent involvement opportunities
Maintain warm, professional communication with families and staff (monthly newsletters, events calendars etc.)
Purchase and maintain supplies for all classroom learning centers (e.g., monthly snack schedules, supplies etc.)
Partner with the custodian to ensure the building is safe, clean and
Coordinate with Peace Children’s Ministry Coordinator with communication, cross-over events, family involvement, and support of both programs
Communicate with the Missions/Communication Coordinator all church wide promotions and events of the preschool and schedule all events using the facility with the Office Manager.

Required Certifications & Documentation:
FBI & BCII background checks
Signed Statement of Non-Conviction (per Ohio licensing rules 5101:2-12-26 & 5101:2-13-26)
Medical exam from Licensed physician and up-to-date immunizations
First Aid & CPR certification
Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention training
Communicable Disease Recognition & Prevention training
High school diploma (or equivalent)
Associate degree or higher (verified by transcripts)
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in:
Early Childhood Education
Elementary Education
Business Management (or related field)
Preferred:
Two years of teaching experience
Two years of management experience (ideally in a childcare center or preschool)
· Refer to Ohio Administrative Code Child Care Licensing Rules for specific administrator qualification requirements
Meetings & Participation:
Lead regular preschool staff meetings
Meet regularly with the preschool team
Attend other meetings related to the preschool as needed
Attend weekly Peace church staff meetings when possible, especially during the summer, as well as other Peace church staff functions (retreats, worship, etc.) and Peace church kid’s events (VBS, Fall Festival, etc.)
