Position: Member Services Representative (Part-Time)
Reports To: Operations Manager
Position Summary
The Member Services Representative supports both frontline member service and back-office financial operations of the credit union. This position delivers accurate, professional service to members while maintaining the integrity of accounting records and daily operational processes, including ACH, ATM, share draft, and general ledger balancing.
This role performs teller functions, assists with branch operations, and completes accounting duties of moderate complexity in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties
Member Service & Teller Functions
Perform routine member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, cash advances, and check cashing.
Provide account information including balances, histories, and loan payoffs.
Open and close accounts in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.
Process payroll deduction deposits.
Sell money orders.
Examine checks for proper endorsement and negotiability.
Balance teller drawer daily.
Assist members with account discrepancies, overdrafts, debit card issues, account closings, and adjustments.
Cross-sell credit union products and services by identifying member needs and communicating benefits.
Greet members and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Monitor lobby appearance and access during hours of operation.
Send onboarding letters to new members.
Maintain membership records and file retention documentation.
Safeguard sensitive and confidential member information at all times.
Accounting & Operational Support
Process and reconcile daily ACH, payroll, and share draft files; prepare and submit returns; process settlements.
Ensure assigned general ledger accounts are current and balanced daily.
Verify accuracy, completeness, and consistency of accounting information received.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies; coordinate with departments and outside agencies as needed.
Balance ATM network settlements and maintain the IBEW 26 ATM, including deposits and adjustments.
Process ATM/POS adjustments and maintain required documentation.
Review and retain ACH and ATM documentation in compliance with policy.
Monitor share draft accounts and close accounts when appropriate.
Contact members regarding negative balances and non-sufficient funds.
Proof loans in accordance with credit union procedures.
Provide internal support regarding general ledger balancing, ATM issues, and operational processes.
Perform cash vault responsibilities including verifying incoming cash, filling teller orders, balancing coin, and maintaining security controls.
Approve wire transfer requests in accordance with authority limits.
General Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
Follow Teller and Management Duty schedules.
Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
Participate in special promotions and assist other departments including Lending and Accounting as needed.
Maintain maximum security over cash and valuables according to policy.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate’s Degree or equivalent financial institution experience preferred.
Prior financial institution and cash handling experience preferred.
