We are currently seeking a Quality Inspector on 3rd shift to join our Sterling Heights team, offering opportunities to apply your skills in a collaborative and safe environment across all shifts. The Quality Technician’s primary responsibility is to ensure that parts being produced meet customer requirements while adhering to company policies and procedures. However, there may be times when the quality technician will be required to perform other duties as requested through management or his/her supervisor.
Key responsibilities include:
Make required number of daily rounds
Approve and hang first piece samples
Complete daily audit sheets
Log lot numbers for components, material, concentrate and resign
Perform fixture check(s) where applicable
Color and gloss checks
Use and operate Hand Scanner
Support document control
Maintain shift to shift communication of quality concerns at shift change
Tag non-conforming parts or material and communicate to supervisor(s)
Verify parts to label with scanner
Label parts for shipment
Write up scrap tickets and give to the Q.E.
Make Master Labels
Attention to detail
Teamwork and communication skills
Keep work area clean and organized
Follow all safety and company policies and procedures
Responsibilities include all listed above, but are not limited only to those listed above
Compensation:
Starting pay is $17.25 per hour, with an increase to $18.75 per hour after 90 days.
Shift premiums apply as follows:
2nd Shift: $0.75 per hour
3rd Shift: $1.00 per hour
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Plastic Injection Molding background is helpful.

This position requires that the employee be able to move and transport plastic parts that generally do not exceed 10 pounds, without requiring assistance such as a dolly, forklift, or another team member. This position also includes frequent and prolonged periods of standing/walking, pushing /pulling or moving/lifting supplies. This position experiences frequent/occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motion and gripping. Must comply with all safety requirements including use of the personal protection equipment required for this position.
