The Role & Landscape: The AWS Cloud Engineering Team provides the foundational, scalable platform that core application teams rely on. Moving away from traditional break-fix operations, this role embraces modern reliability engineering principles to ensure the global AWS network is performant, secure, and resilient.

- Act as the guardian of cloud connectivity, implementing structural network changes across a global AWS footprint strictly via Infrastructure-as-Code.

- Architect, maintain, and optimize Terraform modules to guarantee highly repeatable and scalable network rollouts.

- Treat operational toil as a bug: develop robust automation tooling in Python and Bash to streamline deployments and operations.

- Safely execute and manage network deployments via CI/CD pipelines, enforcing strict peer reviews, impact analysis, and rollback strategies.

- Enhance network observability and monitoring to preemptively identify and mitigate production risks before they impact internal stakeholders.

- Troubleshoot complex connectivity configurations within AWS environments using advanced native and third-party tooling.

What We Are Looking For:

- Experience: 2–4 years of proven experience in a cloud network, infrastructure, or reliability engineering (SRE) capacity.

- Networking Foundations: Deep understanding of core protocols (IPv4, DNS, TCP/UDP) and routing, applied in a modern cloud context.

- Cloud Expertise: Hands-on mastery of AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Route53, Load Balancing).

- Automation & IaC: Strong, practical proficiency with Terraform and a solid track record of scripting in Python and/or Bash.

- Reliability Mindset: A highly methodical approach to production risk, high-availability architecture, and root-cause analysis.

- Desirable Extras: Experience scaling AWS networks globally, familiarity with IPAM tooling (e.g., Infoblox), CI/CD workflows, or advanced observability stacks (CloudWatch, Grafana).
