Position Summary
The Director of Human Resources provides district-wide leadership and oversight for all human resources functions within the Holmes County Consolidated School District. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Operations, the Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering effective human resource systems that support recruitment, retention, employee relations, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for all human resources operations, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, retention, evaluation, and separation of employees.
Support the Executive Director of Operations in advancing district operational goals related to staffing, compliance, and organizational effectiveness.
Develop, implement, and monitor human resources policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with district, state, and federal requirements.
Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, including MDE, federal, and local requirements.
Coordinate recruitment and hiring efforts for certified and classified staff to meet district staffing needs.
Oversee employee relations, including discipline, investigations, grievances, and due process procedures.
Provide guidance and support to administrators regarding personnel matters, evaluations, and performance management.
Manage employee records, licensure tracking, contracts, and human resources information systems.
Support compensation, benefits administration, and position classification processes.
Collaborate with district leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and retention strategies.
Serve as a liaison with legal counsel, regulatory agencies, and external partners as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Educational Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Valid Mississippi Educator License or eligibility for appropriate licensure.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources management, preferably in a public school district or comparable organization.
Demonstrated knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
Experience managing personnel processes, employee relations, and HR systems.
District-level human resources leadership experience.
Experience with MDE reporting, licensure systems, and school district employment requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Contract and Salary
230 Days per year
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and consistent with district administrative salary schedules
