Job Description
The Commodity Buyer will be in 100% performing buyer role particularly for both local and imported commodities required for animal nutrition and pet solutions.
This role is based in our Cagayan De Oro plant.
Your Responsibilities
Part of the Procurement team in ensuring the implementation of the purchase strategies.
Lead all sourcing, supplier negotiation and supplier selection related to assigned raw materials nationwide.
Monitor stock inventory and position in alignment with the purchase strategy and supply and demand plan.
Responsible for contract management including review, negotiation and execution of contracts
Provide cost projection to manage cost movement.
Read market to strategize during bearish and bullish trends and recommend in support for product pricing strategy.
Coordinate all contracts with foreign exchange exposure with Finance and Treasury to ensure smooth payment processing and help manage the risk of exchange loss.
Work closely with QA, Formulation, Supply Chain and Operations to ensure continual production.
Lead the supplier evaluation in coordination with Quality Assurance and Food Safety team.
Understand the requirements to develop sourcing strategy with streamlined approach that leads to improved sustainability and quality.
Analyze spend and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Identify new or alternative ingredient for improvement of cost and product performance.
Submit the weekly commentary and price updates for all commodities.
Maintain the mark-to-market report for risk position management.
Develop supplier network for highly competitive sourcing.
Manage relationships with key suppliers.
Your Profile
Minimum of 10-year experience in commodity preferably in agri-business or trade industry.
Experience in foreign trade transactions preferred
Self-driven team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills (collaboration across locations and functions; coordination with external partners and suppliers).
Fluent in English.
Preferably with background in any ERP
General knowledge of software applications (Excel, Word, Power Point)
