Job Description:

Seeking an experienced SQL Developer to support development and maintenance of Eligibility & Enrollment (CARES) systems for Alabama Medicaid. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining database solutions, ETL processes, and integrated systems while working closely with project stakeholders in an onsite government environment.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain applications supporting Medicaid Eligibility & Enrollment systems.

Create and optimize T-SQL stored procedures, triggers, and complex SQL queries.

Develop and manage SSIS ETL packages and SSRS reports to meet business requirements.

Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of database procedures and ETL workflows.

Conduct data analysis, workflow analysis, and system integration across multiple applications.

Document code, processes, and technical designs clearly and accurately.

Provide regular status updates to Project and Development Managers.

Work across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Collaborate in Agile/Scrum environments and assist in technical interviews when needed.

Required Skills (rank in order of Importance):

5+ years of experience in SQL Server development and database programming.

Strong expertise in T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Triggers, and advanced SQL queries.

5+ years of experience in ETL development using SSIS and reporting with SSRS.

Hands-on experience with tools such as Visual Studio, TFS/Azure DevOps, and Chrome Developer Tools.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
