As a Flight Nurse at Life Link III, you'll join an elite team of flight paramedics and pilots, delivering advanced, life-saving care with top-of-the-line equipment in air medical transport. Experience a high level of autonomy as you assess and stabilize critically ill or injured patients, performing advanced procedures and ensuring their safe journey to specialized medical facilities. In this fast-paced, rewarding role, you'll rely on your advanced critical care nursing expertise, mastery of complex interventions, and exceptional communication—where every mission makes a difference.

Your impact:

Provide advanced critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions during air medical transport

Assess, stabilize, and manage trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and pediatric emergencies in flight

Perform advanced procedures within scope of practice and manage complex patient conditions in alignment with medical protocols

Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products per guidelines and established protocols

Constantly reassess patient conditions, modify care plans, and adapt interventions to the evolving clinical status during flight

Ensure safety throughout all phases of transport in collaboration with pilot and flight nurse

Collaborate closely with flight nurses, pilots, and other professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes during transport

Maintains clear and continuous communication with receiving hospitals, pre-hospital care providers, and family members as necessary

Participate in pre-flight safety checks, post flight debriefings and maintain equipment readiness

Document patient care accurately and support quality improvement initiatives

Maintain critical care skills through ongoing training

Your Qualifications:

Current Minnesota and Wisconsin RN Licenses (both required at time of hire)

MN based RNs must have ND license - Wisconsin based RNs must have MI RN and MI EMT licensure (EMT may be completed when offered after hire)

BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required

Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) required within 18 months of hire date

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification will be required after hire date

FEMA certification for ICS 100, 200

Minimum of 3 years recent (within the previous 5 years) critical care or emergency nursing experience with a focus on high-acuity, critical patient care, including expertise in managing severe trauma, acute cardiac conditions, respiratory failure, and complex neonatal/pediatric cases

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Prior critical care experience that involved a comprehensive understanding of advanced life support techniques, pharmacological therapies, invasive procedures, and emergency interventions

Prior exposure to high-acuity, multi-system trauma, including shock, severe head injuries, and complex cardiac emergencies, is essential

Must maintain a flight crew weight of 230 lbs or less, fully dressed in flight required gear

Valid driver's license

Ability to maintain airport security access credentials (where applicable)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a health-related field

Pre-hospital or air medical flight experience

Trauma certifications (TPATC, TNCC)

5 years of ICU, critical care experience

Experience with adult and pediatric patient populations, including neonates, is highly preferred

Base Pay Rate: $43.35 - $51.57 per hour, based on experience
