What We Need YOU To Do:

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest software development specialist in the Office of Data Services, working at our Central Office in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

A-ha! There you are.

As our newest software development specialist, you will help our Office of Data Services to develop and maintain GIS-specific software applications, specifically bridging traditional application development and GIS-oriented development. You will work with business personnel to identify and document GIS system software requirements like working with other application developers to define problems and develop potential GIS solutions.

You will manage and maintain the agency enterprise geodatabase and coordinate the interaction between traditional agency databases and geospatial databases or functions. You will also help to develop and enforce geospatial data and metadata standards and publish data services.

You will conduct complex analysis of geospatial data using GIS software tools like spatial or network analyst, and analytic methods like proximity analysis, network analysis, specialized geoprocessing tools, scripts, and models. You will operate and administer GIS software like ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Enterprise to produce and/or revise printed maps, web maps, GIS web services, dashboards, and other online applications.

48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

OR completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

OR completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

OR equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
