Position Summary

Mid-Ohio Air Conditioning HVAC Installers perform equipment replacement, duct installation and/or replacement, piping installation and/or replacement, tenant improvements to HVAC systems, and equipment start-up in commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings throughout Central, Northeast, and Southeast Ohio. Installers work as part of a crew of two or more on a standard Monday–Friday schedule, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with a half-hour lunch break. Overtime opportunities are regularly available. HVAC Installers read and interpret blueprints, work efficiently in team environments, and are committed to delivering quality outcomes for customers.

Core Responsibilities

Installation & Field Work

Install and replace commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units, air handling units, fan coils, and associated components

Install ductwork, duct modifications, roof curbs, and curb adapters per project specifications

Install refrigerant and hydronic piping including layout, welding, and joining via mechanical fittings (threaded, flanges, Victaulic/gasketed systems)

Perform equipment start-up activities under the direction of the project manager or lead installer

Ensure all installations meet industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety regulations

Collaborate with fellow crew members and other trades to complete projects efficiently and on schedule

Documentation & Safety

Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used via MOAC's field service applications

Adhere to all OSHA, MOAC, and site-specific safety policies; apply PPE and LOTO procedures at all times

Report safety incidents, near-misses, or hazards immediately to the project manager or crew lead

Maintain a clean, organized truck and job site throughout all phases of work

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational degree or apprenticeship completion preferred

Demonstrated experience in commercial HVAC installation, ductwork, and/or piping

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications

Licenses & Certifications

EPA Section 608 certification a plus

Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record required

OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in diverse field conditions (rooftops, equipment rooms, confined spaces, all weather)

Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs

Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with refrigeration and hydronics piping

Experience with commercial ductwork installation including roof curbs and curb adapters

Familiarity with field service mobile applications and digital work order systems

Training & Development

MOAC installers are offered a minimum of two weeks of formal training through multiple methods, including manufacturer factory training, continuing education through local vendors and in-house training, online resources, and on-the-job mentoring. Tuition reimbursement is available for industry-related courses taken outside normal business hours.
