Job Description
Summary:
All SMT Operators are responsible to ensure highest product quality and products manufactured per MPI or Instructions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates SMT automatic assembly equipment.
Sign in Electrostatic discharge (ESD) log twice a day (beginning of work and after lunch break)
Reads MPI’s, production schedules and operations manuals, as well as receiving verbal instructions, regarding sequential start-up and operation of SMT machines (example Ekra Juki BTU’s)
Responsible for set-up, operations and routing maintenance to facilities.
Ensure all tooling are available prior to start a job. When there are discrepancies, do not start a job without any authorization from Engineer / Supervisor.
Ensure all materials are clear prior to start a job. When there are discrepancies, do not start a job without any written authorization from Program Manager or Manager.
Scan all work on Data Collection system.
Typically an experienced assembler promoted with both on-the-job and classroom/formal training
Loads boards on conveyor lines
Helps assure that equipment is clean
Shuts down machine following prescribed procedures
Escalate all issues to Supervisor / Engineer / Manager
Attend training and implement all procedures pertaining to Production, such as ESD, Housekeeping, First Article, Maintenance, Safety, Test and Inspection Procedures, MSD Handling procedure, etc.
Complete all required trainings
Make suggestions on process and quality improvement to Supervisor / Engineer / Management
Review Data Collection system with Supervisor on your Defect Yield.
Verify SMT Set-up sheet is sign off by Set-up Operators.
Verify that all material that is excess for run is available.
Verify Pick’n place program against MPI is sign off by QC. Review your section of MPI in Aegis.
Ensure all MSD components are stored in vacuum-sealed bag or baked prior to start a job. Ensure that you sign MSD label.
Verify components and feeders location against Pick’n place program
Review Solder Paste handling procedure, Daily Machine Maintenance, First Article procedure.
Always verify printing quality prior to sending boards to pick’n place machine.
Always check Juki machines for drop parts when in process. Empty end of your shift and pass down.
Ensure no missing materials (ICs) during assembly process.
At the end of the shift, make sure the working areas are clean.

Minimum Qualifications
1-5 years working in a SMT Juki/Yamaha Programs,
1-5 years Projects or Customer Service environment within the CM or similar environment.
Minimum High school
Must possess good working knowledge CM technology (specifically circuit board assembly)
Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
Must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to effectively accomplish the work.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift 10-30lbs.Skills
Possess and demonstrate good team relations skills
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and achieve goals and tasks
Computer skills needed Microsoft Office and some Excel.
Ability to multi task is a plus.
