Automation Technician - Onsite

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Associate Engineer for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in New Albany, OH. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

The ideal candidate is an experienced Automation Technician with strong hands-on PLC troubleshooting skills, ladder logic reading, HMI familiarity, and packaging equipment experience. This role involves collaborating with mechanical technicians and diagnosing electrical/automation issues in a GMP manufacturing environment. The position is for a PM shift (6:00 pm – 6:30 am) on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical engineering support on all system/equipment optimization strategies, upgrades, replacements, and modifications

Support production by quickly troubleshooting and resolving issues on packaging equipment

Evaluate if utility systems, process maintenance, and other systems are maintained in compliance with industry and FDA standards

Coordinate technical support on engineering, regulatory, compliance, calibration, quality, and process automation issues

Assist during regulatory agency inspections and provide technical support in response to the FDA

Complete advanced maintenance activities and operate sophisticated plant support equipment in accordance with cGMPs, SOPs, and company policies

Investigate complex issues or problems with the mentorship of experienced staff

Assist with maintaining an up-to-date working spare parts inventory system

Interpret and review utility, process system/equipment, and HVAC P&ID's

Support Operations using Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree and 4 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience

Allen-Bradley PLC proficiency

Experience with electrical/automation troubleshooting of complex equipment

Experience with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley controls; Siemens and B&R controls are a plus

Familiarity with sub-systems on equipment such as Systech serialization, Cognex cameras, and SCADA

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to work non-standard shifts that include weekends and/or holidays

Pay range: up to $33.07 per hour
