Job Duties
● Provide general supervision of the onsite team to ensure all systems and processes are
running smoothly
● Combination of people management and personal contribution to maintain and improve
both sides of data-center life
● Organize and manage the team’s workflow, including balancing the workload during the
day
● Maintain a productive environment, motivate and inspire team members
● Facilitate problem solving and resolve conflict situations
● Be an escalation point for colleagues
● Handle incidents and respective incident reports as required
● Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge
● Provide regular and constructive feedback to team members to help them develop,
improve, and enhance their skills and knowledge, take appropriate corrective actions
when required
● Assist with updating internal documentation
● Be engaged in continuous training and self-education
● Identify areas of development for team members and provide development coaching
● Foster a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of datacenter activities
● Contribute to resource planning to ensure teams are meeting SLAs and project
deliverables, including non-standard hours maintenance availability
● Encourage sharing of lessons learned, best practices, process/procedural innovation
and tools to improve efficiency and team success
● Actively contribute to open communication within the team
● Deliver the below activities through personal contribution and action, and through
mobilizing others:
* Rack, Stack, and Cable Network, Server, and Storage equipment.
* Hardware and Software configuration and installation.
* Cable, Power, and Temperature Management.
* Develop and Document onsite fault analysis strategies.
* Take responsibility for asset and inventory control / accurate onsite stock
information
● Build cross functional relationships and have the ability to influence policies and
procedures to improve global data center operations
● Participate in an on-call rotation.
Requirements
• 60 months of experience as Computer and Information Systems Manager, Data Center Operations Manager, IT Operations Manager, or related occupation.
• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in data center operations or IT infrastructure management, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Education, or related technical field.
• Experience in infrastructure management, including capacity planning, demand/supply management, production planning, and operations planning.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams on large-scale data center projects and initiatives.
• Knowledge of commercial-grade server, storage, network, and power systems commonly used in enterprise data center environments, including oversight of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including extended hours during emergency situations.
• Must be able to report onsite to the primary worksite within 60 minutes when on-call for emergency response.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Occasional international travel required (approximately once annually)
