Job Title: Assistant Pipe Fitter

Primary Purpose of the Role
To carry out maintenance, repair, and installation of refinery equipment and piping systems while supporting technicians in routine and shutdown activities. The role ensures safe and efficient operation of fixed equipment and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance of fixed equipment such as towers, heaters, furnaces, vessels, boilers, heat exchangers, water treatment plants, marine and crude loading arms.
Maintain and repair piping systems, pipe fittings, valves, and firefighting systems.
Conduct regular inspection, monitoring, and rectification of defective equipment.
Assist technicians in routine maintenance activities including checking flanges, valves, and valve leakages, and replacing packing.
Carry out disassembly, repair, and reassembly of pipelines and equipment.
Perform installation and erection of pipelines after maintenance or repair.
Execute routine maintenance work on steam boilers, including hydraulic testing.
Participate in major overhauls and annual refinery shutdown activities.
Operate hydro-jetting machines for cleaning heat exchangers, air coolers, towers, and vessels.
Carry out general cleaning and servicing of refinery equipment.
Follow all safety procedures and regulations strictly during maintenance activities.
Education Requirements
Industrial Diploma Certificate OR
Minimum twelve (12) years of school education
Experience Requirements
Minimum 5 years of relevant practical experience in maintenance and repair of refinery equipment.
Experience in oil & gas or refinery environments is mandatory.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of piping systems, valves, and refinery equipment.
Ability to perform dismantling, installation, and maintenance work independently.
Familiarity with hydro-jetting and cleaning equipment.
Good understanding of safety standards and industrial practices.
Ability to work during shutdowns and high-pressure environments.
Certifications (Preferred)
Relevant technical or vocational certifications in pipe fitting or mechanical maintenance.
Safety training certifications are an added advantage.
