Elementary School 2nd Grade Teacher

NORTHRIDGE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT Northridge Elementary School 20262027 School Year Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: Building Principal Position Summary The Northridge Local School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Second-Grade Elementary Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support the academic and social-emotional development of elementary students.

The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment, deliver standards-based instruction, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in core content areas, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies * Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Ohio Learning Standards * Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners * Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records * Provide targeted interventions and enrichment opportunities as needed * Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment * Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development * Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities * Collaborate with grade-level team members, intervention specialists, and support staff * Participate in professional development and district initiatives * Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district policies and procedures Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (required) * Valid Ohio teaching license appropriate for grades K3 or 18 (or ability to obtain) * Knowledge of best practices in elementary instruction and child development * Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills * Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs Working Conditions * Standard school-day schedule with occasional extended hours for meetings and events * Participation in school-related activities, conferences, and professional development Application Process Interested candidates should submit the following: * Complete the application process Benefits The Northridge Local School District offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, participation in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) of Ohio, and paid sick and personal leave.
