Laminator Operator I – Manufacturing / Packaging

$21.10/hour + $2.00 shift differential (Effective Rate: $23.10/hour)
Job description:
I’m working with a leading packaging manufacturer to hire a Laminator Operator I for their Elk Grove Village facility.
This is a hands-on production role focused on operating laminating equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining efficient manufacturing processes. The company is known for its strong safety culture, sustainability focus, and long-term career opportunities within the packaging sector.
The Position:
Operate laminating machinery safely and efficiently in line with production targets
Mix adhesives according to formulas and verify calculations for each run
Set up machines, including rollers and substrates, to meet job specifications
Verify first-piece quality and ensure ongoing compliance with standards
Monitor production processes and report any defects or inconsistencies
Maintain cleanliness of machines and work areas to required standards (including SQF)
Handle hazardous materials and waste in accordance with procedures
Perform machine adjustments and basic maintenance tasks
Support continuous improvement, audits, and team-based initiatives
Report safety issues, accidents, and quality concerns immediately
What They’re Looking For:
At least 1 year of machine operator experience (laminator experience preferred) – MUST
Experience working with and measuring chemicals – MUST
Ability to read a ruler or tape measure accurately – MUST
Basic math skills and attention to detail – MUST
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment – MUST
Strong safety awareness and reliability – MUST

Shift Pattern:
5:45 PM – 6:15 AM
12-hour continental schedule (3 days one week, 4 days the next)
