Non-Ferrous Loader Operator

Job Description

This is a swing shift schedule: 12 hour days, 4 days on 4 days off.

Job Summary:

The NFS Loader Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of the loader used in the Non-Ferrous Separation Plant (NFS). This role involves ensuring the loader is in good working condition, maintaining material flow, and assisting with routine checks and clean-up activities.

Experience with a FORK LIFT is not the same as a pay loader, applications with only fork lift experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Equipment Maintenance:

Check all fluid levels and grease points on the loader every day before each shift.

Ensure oil, fuel, antifreeze, motor oil, transmission oil, and hydraulic oil levels are adequate.

Check air filters DAILY. Blow out air filters every day.

Grease any dry points on the loader.

Material Handling:

Keep the System's Hopper full and ensure it does not run out of material.

Routine Inspections:

Inspect material flow through the system

Assist technicians with the maintenance of the machines

Clean-Up Activities:

Help with clean-up at the end of every shift, either by shoveling or using the loader.

Ensure the work area is kept clean and organized.

Qualifications:

Experience operating a loader or similar heavy machinery.

Willingness to get out of your machine and help technicians with cleaning, mechanical repairs, and separating non-ferrous material

Knowledge of loader maintenance and routine checks.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain equipment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to safety and adherence to company protocols.

Strong experience with running a crew. Respectful, Helpful, Leader, Committed, Focused.

The ability to manage a crew of 2-3 laborers.
