About 8090 At 8090, we identify inefficiencies in enterprise operations and deliver AI-powered solutions tailored to each problem.
Co-founded and led by Chamath Palihapitiya, we are building a Software Factory capable of generating complete software systems from initial concept through production deployment—eliminating the bloated complexity and overhead of traditional software development.
About the Role We are hiring a Marketing Intern to help build and run the marketing engine for 8090 during summer 2026.
Your primary mission: design, execute, and measure the campaigns, content, and systems that put 8090 in front of the right audiences and turn that attention into qualified interest.
This is a cross-functional role that blends growth marketing, content production, video, email lifecycle design, and experimentation.
You will work directly with our marketing team on projects that ship, study how audiences interact with our content, and close the gap between the stories we tell and the ones that actually convert.
Location This is an on-site internship in our Menlo Park, California office location.
Five days per week.
Responsibilities Campaigns and Content • Execute and monitor marketing campaigns across LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and email, with clear weekly reporting on what is and is not working.
• Produce video content, including short-form clips, founder and engineer interviews, and product explainers, and own the analytics behind each one.
• Generate and test creative content ideas, identify the most promising directions, and bring them to production quickly.
• Partner with the marketing team to identify which product capabilities and stories are most worth showcasing and what messaging converts.
Email and Lifecycle • Build out our email marketing program, including list development, lifecycle design, automation setup, send cadence, and performance reporting.
• Design welcome flows and follow-up sequences that increase engagement and move subscribers toward meaningful next steps.
• Analyze open rates, click rates, and cohort behavior to identify what works and translate those findings into the next round of experiments.Experimentation and Systems • Help design and run marketing experiments using our autoresearch and autoreasoning methodologies, the approaches we use to continuously improve our campaigns.
• Build reusable templates, prompts, and workflows that let the marketing team move faster on every future project.
• Turn what we learn into documented playbooks so the team compounds what works.
Required Skills • Strong curiosity about audience behavior: you study how people interact with content online and form hypotheses before proposing ideas.
• Marketing/Communications/Media/Tech/Design degree focus at school.
• Currently enrolled junior or senior undergraduate student with a technical or design background.
• Fluent across the current AI tool stack, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Midjourney, Runway, Descript, v0, and Cursor.
You actively try new tools as they are released.
• Data-driven decision-making: you run experiments and report results, not opinions.
• A founder-like mindset: high ownership, resourceful, fast-moving.
• Strong written and verbal communication for both external content and internal collaboration.
What Sets a Candidate Apart • Portfolio of published work: essays, videos, newsletters, campus publications, or social accounts with real engagement.
• Track record of shipping content that produced measurable results, such as subscribers, signups, views, or conversions.
• Prior internship or project experience in growth marketing, content strategy, or B2B SaaS.
• Comfort with analytics platforms and basic query or scripting work.
• Demonstrated taste and judgment.
You can articulate what makes a piece of work effective and why.
