Job Description Licensed Practical Nurse Position Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – provides direct patient care and clinical support at Blue Ridge Associates in Neurology on a full-time basis.
The LPN works under the direction of the provider and Director of Operations to deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with neurological conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis and related disorders.
This role is responsible for supporting patient care activities, assisting with treatments and procedures, and helping maintain a safe, efficient, and patient-centered clinical environment.
Responsibilities of the LPN include the following:Provide direct patient care within the LPN scope of practiceObtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and patient informationAssist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatmentsAdminister medications and injections as ordered by the providerSupport the administration of IV and infusion therapies (as permitted by scope and training), including patient monitoring and documentationEducate patients and families on conditions, medications, and treatment plansMonitor patients for changes in condition and report concerns to the providerPerform specimen collection and coordinate laboratory testingMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical recordEnsure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for patient visitsCoordinate patient care activities, including scheduling and follow-upAdhere to all clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, infection control, safety standards)Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and patients QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Practical Nursing programCurrent, active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the Commonwealth of VirginiaMinimum of 1–3 years of clinical experience preferredExperience in neurology, Multiple Sclerosis, autoimmune disorders, or infusion therapy preferredStrong clinical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced clinical environmentProficiency with electronic medical records Work Environment This position operates primarily in a clinical office environment within the Salem and Christiansburg locations.
Direct patient interaction and on-site presence are required.
