Job Summary

We are a small family owned petroleum business located in eastern Colorado. We currently have four full time employees. We are seeking a Class B CDL driver with HAZMAT endorsement to join our team with the goal to become our main propane delivery driver. In this role, you will maintain trucks (ie oil change and grease when necessary), track inventory, fulfill orders-both call in and route customers, and help with general maintenance and trucks around our property. Responding to orders quickly and accurately is an essential part of customer satisfaction. We are busy during the winter season when heating demand is at its peak and may require overtime worked 5-7 days per week. Summertime and warm season are much slower for deliveries. An ideal candidate is a team player, highly organized, driven with strong attention to detail and previous experience in a similar role. We appreciate some one with a mechanical skill set. All of our hazmat drivers are required to take Propane Education and Research Council Classes and three year Hazmat refresher training on the job in order to qualify. This will help prepare the candidate for all the safety precautions involved with the propane business. There is room for advancement in our company in the long term.

Responsibilities

Load and unload materials

Keep up with route and call-in customers

Leak checks and propane tank repair work

PEP training

3 year hazmat refresher training

Bobtail truck maintenance (ie oil change and grease)

Federally enforced drug and alcohol testing

Inspect deliveries to ensure all materials meet quality standards (sniff test)

Monitor inventory levels

Maintain detailed records of orders, materials, and inventory

Communicate with team and front office staff to stay ahead and organized

Qualifications

Previous experience as a CDL, HAZMAT driver. 1 year experience required.

Previous experience as a propane delivery driver (not required)

Mechanical skillset

Attention to detail

Familiarity with and ability to use industrial equipment

Excellent attention to detail and hand-eye coordination

Highly organized

Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects

Availability to work overtime when necessary
