HiFyve is hiring a Lab Supervisor in the Materials Testing industry!

Pay: $80,000–$100,000/year (DOE)

Shift: Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (OT as needed)

Location: Onsite

About the Role

This role oversees daily lab operations, ensuring accurate cement, pozzolan, and concrete testing while maintaining compliance with industry standards and accreditation requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure all testing aligns with ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and applicable standards

Perform testing alongside technicians and support team training

Review test data, reports, and certifications for accuracy

Maintain and calibrate lab equipment; coordinate repairs and PMs

Manage sample intake, tracking, chain of custody, and disposal

Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)

Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions

Develop and update SOPs, methods, and work instructions

Promote safety, quality, and team development within the lab

Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations

Maintain accurate records for audits and accreditation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related (or equivalent experience)

5+ years in a construction materials testing laboratory

Strong knowledge of cement and concrete testing standards (ASTM C109, C150, C595, C618, C138, C143, C39, C78, etc.)

Experience with lab accreditation programs (AASHTO, CCRL)

ACI Concrete Field Testing and Strength Testing certifications required

Additional ACI, NICET, or state certifications preferred

Experience with SCMs (fly ash, slag, silica fume, pozzolans) preferred

Familiarity with LIMS preferred

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Additional Details

Mix of lab and field work environments

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

PPE required in designated areas

Up to 30% travel required
