Location: Western United States (Extensive Travel Required – Including Alaska & Hawaii)
Relocation to Idaho is NOT required

Job Summary
Northern Management Services Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Carpenter / Working Superintendent to oversee and actively participate in construction projects across the Western United States. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on construction work at commercial, natural, and historic project sites.
Projects are primarily located at National Parks, U.S. Fish & Wildlife sites, and United States Postal Service facilities, offering unique and rewarding work environments.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and lead daily field construction activities
Coordinate with customers, vendors, and suppliers
Ensure project timelines and budgets are met
Maintain quality control standards across all phases of construction
Perform field documentation including daily logs and progress photos
Communicate effectively with customers and site personnel
Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Perform hands-on carpentry and construction tasks including:
Wood and metal framing
Concrete forming and finishing
Finish carpentry
Additional site work as needed to ensure project success
Required Qualifications
Journey-level carpentry skills in:
Wood and steel framing
Concrete forming and finishing
Finish carpentry
Working Construction knowledge of:
Electrical
Plumbing
Mechanical systems
Roofing
Interior finishes
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
Willingness to travel extensively throughout the Western U.S.
Ability to use:
Laptop computer and smartphone
Email communication
Microsoft Excel and Word

Davis-Bacon wages vary by Region with a guaranteed minimum hourly rate
