Software Engineer III - AWS Cloud Engineer

As a Cloud Software Engineer III - Terraform / Golang / AWS at JPMorganChase within the Consumer & Community Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for devising critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Develops reusable Terraform templates and modules that abstract AWS complexity, allowing teams to provision infrastructure across all AWS components without requiring deep service-specific expertise

Designs and implements infrastructure-as-code solutions that ensure consistency, security, and compliance across multiple AWS accounts and environments

Troubleshoots complex infrastructure deployment issues and optimize existing Terraform configurations for performance and reliability

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems

Implements scalable cloud native software solutions using modern technology stacks to deliver highly available, performant, and resilient products

Creates automation workflows that validate and deploy Terraform templates through CI/CD pipelines

Collaborates with application teams to understand their infrastructure needs and translate them into standardized Terraform modules Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

Hands-on practical experience in system design, infrastructure as code tooling (Terraform and such), testing, and operational stability

Experience with AWS / Cloud Provider services

Experience working in a Cloud Native environment

Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages

Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle

Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

Demonstrated knowledge of software design principles and patterns as wells as experience implementing solutions using various software architectures such as modular monoliths and micro-services

Excellent problem solving, analytical and communication skills Preferred Qualifications
