General Qualifications:

High school diploma

Technology and typing skills

Working knowledge of math

Working knowledge of a Student Database system, preferably Skyward

Score “Good” or “Excellent” on the following proficiency assessments:

Microsoft Excel Assessment, Microsoft Word Assessment, Typing Assessment, Proofreading Assessment

Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate

Possess strong communication skills (written and oral).

Minimum Salary - 0 years of experience $18.97 per hour

Maximum Salary - 20 years of experience $25.74per hour

ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS

Staff member will effectively perform the following duties in a timely manner:

Completes projects and special assignments by establishing objectives; determining priorities; managing time; gaining cooperation of others; monitoring progress; problem solving; making adjustments to plans.

Enhances RCS’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Knowledge of student and employee database system entries and reports

Perform usual office routines & practices associated with a busy, yet productive and smoothly run office.

Maintain student/staff records as shall be required.

Receive and route all incoming calls.

Registration of new students.

Maintain staff attendance records, and the district records for substitute teachers

Assist the teachers in preparing instructional materials as requested

Perform any bookkeeping or financial tasks associated with the specific position, such as athletic contestreceipts, fund raiser receipts, activity funds, etc,

Complete requisitions and other district forms as directed.

Monitor student daily attendance, process changes in student attendance, and call parents as necessary.

Familiarity and/or knowledge of office machines.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and community.

Administer medication/maintain file of medication form for students to take medication during the school day.

Knowledge of First Aid for minor scrapes and bruises and familiarity with the incubation period of childhood diseases. In the absence of the principal, the ability to determine the need (if any) for contacting the parent/guardian and/or the school nurse.

Prepare newsletters, memos, letters to parents, student records, etc.

Post information upon student records.

Must maintain office confidentiality.

Must be able to accept supervisory responsibility in certain situations.

Must have a clean and organized desk space and office area for records, files and paperwork so that office staff can easily locate pertinent information on their own in case of your absence.

Friendly, warm and welcoming to all who enter the building/office. Greet people, ask them what theyneed help with, and welcome them to the building/office. You are the first impression of the building andthe district.

Other responsibilities as assigned by Administration and/or the Board of Education.

Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, administration and community.

Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

Ability to use e-mail and office equipment effectively.

Ability to work with students individually or in group settings.

Outdoor schoolyard and grounds, field trips:exposure to temperatures (hot, warm, cool & cold) andexposure to mowed grass.
