Purpose:
The purpose of the Assistant Supervisor position is to support daily operational activities by assisting with staff supervision, coordinating workflows, and ensuring company policies, procedures, and performance standards are followed. This role serves as a key link between employees and management, helping to maintain a productive, safe, and efficient work environment while contributing to team development and operational success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Supervisor in overseeing daily workflow and production schedules
Provide guidance and direction to employees to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently
Monitor employee performance and productivity; report concerns to management
Assist with training, onboarding, and coaching of new and existing employees
Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Identify and help resolve routine operational or employee issues
Ensure quality standards are met and documented accurately
Assist with inventory tracking, material flow, and equipment readiness
Maintain accurate production, attendance, and performance records
Act as Supervisor in their absence, as assigned
All other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
High school Diploma GED or equivalent combination of education and previous work experience is preferred. Prior experience of at least one year working in a Team Lead or supervisory position and previous work experienced working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is highly preferred.

Ability to communicate under pressure while maintaining professionalism and clarity
Ability to participate in meetings, training sessions, and safety talks
Ability to adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences and work situations
Mathematical Ability
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to calculate percentages, averages, ratios, and measurements
Ability to read, interpret, and apply numerical data such as production counts, schedules, quotas, and quality metrics
Ability to accurately track quantities, time, and materials
Ability to complete basic data entry and record-keeping with attention to accuracy
Ability to understand and follow work instructions involving numerical values
Ability to use simple formulas, calculators, or computer systems as required
Ability to identify and correct numerical errors in reports or documentation
Reasoning Ability:
Able to follow moderately complex instructions and/or directions. Able to problem solve. Requires the ability to decide on a course/sequence of action and to direct others. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out job. Must have continuous visual and mental attention during the operation of equipment and/or machines.
Licenses/Certifications:
Forklift Certification and Haz-Mat training is required for certain positions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including throughout an entire shift
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, twist, and kneel as required by job tasks
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment, typically up to 25-50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders
Manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools, power tools, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively
Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work at various heights, if required
Ability to maintain balance and coordination while working around moving machinery
Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively to operate equipment safely and follow instructions
Tolerance for working in non-climate-controlled environments, including exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, vibrations, or moving mechanical parts
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe shoes, and hearing protection
