Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (excluding state holidays)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator III (DBA) to support enterprise-level data infrastructure in a hybrid environment. This role requires deep expertise in IBM DB2 database administration, along with strong working knowledge of AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms and scripting.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical depth, operational reliability, and the ability to support complex database environments in a structured, compliance-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and support DB2 databases in enterprise environments
Manage database performance, tuning, and optimization to ensure high availability and reliability
Handle DB2 licensing and Passport Advantage compliance and management
Support database installations, upgrades, patches, and migrations
Monitor system health and proactively resolve performance or capacity issues
Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to support business-critical systems
Troubleshoot database and system-level issues across AIX/UNIX/Linux environments
Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience with DB2 database administration
8+ years of experience managing DB2 licensing / Passport Advantage
2+ years of experience working within AIX, UNIX, or Linux environments
2+ years of experience with shell scripting / automation
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience specifically supporting DB2 on AIX
Experience in highly regulated or government environments
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and process adherence skills
Additional Details
Contract engagement with potential for extension based on business needs
Hybrid work model requiring onsite presence in Austin, TX
Candidates must be able to work within standard business hours
