Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Mathiston, MS

This contract nursing opportunity focuses on delivering skilled care across medical-surgical (Med Surg) units, with an emphasis on managing a wide range of cases-from general medical and orthopedic to surgery, gastrointestinal, telemetry, and stepdown patients.

Schedule/Hours:

13-week contract

Rotating shifts:

Rotation 1: Monday-Sunday, includes weekday and weekend coverage

Rotation 2: Night shifts, various weekdays and weekends

Nights required

Qualifications:

Valid and current Mississippi RN license

Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

3+ years of recent Med Surg experience preferred

Proficient with EPIC electronic health records

Ability to manage a 5-7 patient assignment, including total care and higher acuity patients

Confident clinical judgment and strong communication skills

Responsibilities:

Deliver attentive, compassionate care to patients across multiple specialties, including telemetry and stepdown

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes using the EPIC system

Prioritize and manage a moderate to high patient load effectively

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes

Flexibly adapt to rotating shifts and varying patient needs
