1. Owning the backend development for Unit21 and being responsible for application development. 2. Building tools and systems to operationalize better coding standards by developing various data pipelines using Celery, understanding streaming frameworks, and building platform packages using Python. 3. Developing the platform using Django and Django REST Framework and managing user data using SQL Databases PostgreSQL. 4. Writing and performing unit and integration tests and contributing to backend continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools. 5. Participating in performance monitoring for the website, testing, troubleshooting and debugging code. 6. Addressing and complying with best security practices, researching, and adopting new technologies and open-source implementations, and conducting robust Python unit and integration tests. 7. Building scalable server architecture by managing our cloud computing architecture on Google Cloud and working on Configuration Management (Ansible) and automating AWS resources, including IAM, EC2, ECR, S3, SES. 8. Managing our application builds and releases on Jenkins and backend orchestration on Kubernetes while using infrastructure as Code (IC) principles with Terraform. 9. Managing code on BitBucket and writing production code to process real-time data and product outputs from machine learning models. 10. Designing and implementing scalable Flask-based REST microservices that consume millions of user interactions and product catalog data using Docker. 11. Making the features/services easy to use, secure, performant, and accessible to our customers. 12. Working with the data science team to build backend workflows for our applications and creating and optimizing Lambda functions to process datasets and secure storage of results in S3. 13. Performing upgrades, configuration, tuning, maintenance, diagnosis, and resolution of backend system problems. 14. Conducting performance tuning of the application as per the changing requirements and new data feeds. 15. Identifying and classifying performance and coding issues and resolution of these issues as they come up by designing and optimizing high-performance relational database queries to generate reports. 16. Presenting the details of implementation in a weekly showcase and discussing overall quality of the code’s performance with other engineers. 17. Collaborating with designers, other engineers, and product managers to launch new products, making iterations on existing features, and building a world-class user experience. May telecommute.
The position requires one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must include:

Bachelor’s (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
