Position Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of branch crews and equipment, ensuring efficient project execution and high-quality customer service. This role leads all aspects of branch performance, including safety, staffing, financial management, and regulatory compliance.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring direct involvement in traffic control and field operations. The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with solid financial acumen, excellent customer relationship skills, and the ability to balance corporate objectives with local operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Financial Management

Oversee branch production, budgeting, and overall financial performance

Manage shop activities, job site operations, and customer relationships

Partner with estimating teams on capacity planning and project timelines

Collaborate with accounting on revenue recognition, forecasting, and reporting

Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements

Field & Project Execution

Lead crews and manage equipment across multiple job sites

Plan and schedule projects to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Ensure all project documentation and reporting is completed accurately and on time

Customer & Municipal Relations

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and municipalities

Coordinate project notifications, permits, and regulatory compliance

Maintain strong, professional relationships with stakeholders

Leadership & Team Management

Develop employee schedules and manage staffing needs

Support hiring, training, and performance management

Evaluate team capabilities and drive continuous improvement

Lead by example with a strong focus on safety and accountability

Additional Responsibilities

Maintain DOT and industry compliance standards

Manage procurement, billing, and revenue forecasting

Be available for high-demand scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and emergencies

Travel as needed for project and operational oversight

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of traffic control regulations and safety standards

Proven leadership experience managing crews and field operations

Solid financial acumen, including P&L and budgeting experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (Viewpoint experience a plus)

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

10+ years of experience in traffic control, safety, or related industry

10+ years of supervisory or management experience

Active involvement in industry associations or DOT-related initiatives
