Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Install, dismantle, and reassemble overhead cranes and related equipment as needed.
Conduct regular preventative maintenance and inspections to identify wear, malfunctions, or safety hazards.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural crane components.
Replace or repair worn or defective parts to maintain optimal crane performance.
Perform load tests, safety checks, and calibrations to ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, CMAA, and company standards.
Maintain detailed and accurate service, maintenance, and inspection records.
Collaborate closely with engineers, safety officers, and operations teams to resolve complex equipment issues.
Remain current with technological advancements, safety regulations, and industry best practices related to overhead crane systems.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as an Overhead Crane Technician or in a closely related mechanical or electrical maintenance role (minimum 5 years preferred).
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems related to crane operation.
Good working knowledge of 230/460V AC controls, motors, and mechanical drive trains.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
Familiarity with OSHA, ASME, and ANSI safety standards applicable to lifting equipment.
OSHA 10/30 certification preferred but not required.
Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including work at heights and in small spaces.
Good communication skills for effective teamwork and operator training.
High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical certifications or vocational training a plus.
