About the Role
Our client, a leading global investment bank based in New York City, is hiring a Senior Front Office Fixed Income Developer to join the technology team supporting the Repo & Bonds trading desk.
You will work on a critical in-house trading application used daily by Front Office stakeholders, with high visibility and direct impact on trading workflows, pricing, risk and execution.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced developer who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced Front Office environment, partnering closely with Traders, Sales, and Desk Strategists.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance an in-house Fixed Income trading platform supporting Repo & Bonds activity
Build new features and improve performance, stability, and user experience of Front Office tools
Partner directly with traders and desk stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver solutions quickly
Contribute to core components such as:
trade booking & lifecycle workflows
pricing / curve & analytics integration
real-time monitoring dashboards
risk and P&L views
automation of manual desk processes
Own the full development lifecycle: architecture, development, testing, release, and production support
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Risk, Middle Office, Quant, QA, Infrastructure) to ensure end-to-end delivery
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of software development experience (or equivalent), ideally in capital markets
Strong expertise in C# / .NET in a production environment
Proven experience supporting Front Office users (trading desk exposure is required)
Excellent understanding of software engineering best practices:
OOP / xywuqvp SOLID principles
performance optimization
system reliability and maintainability
clean architecture and design patterns
Strong communication skills, able to translate business needs into technical delivery
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with short delivery cycles
Fixed Income / Markets Knowledge (Expected)
Strong familiarity with Fixed Income products, ideally:
Repo (GC / specials, triparty, funding workflows)
Bonds (government, corporates, IG/HY basics)
Understanding of key Front Office concepts such as:
trade lifecycle & confirmations
market data & curves
risk measures
P&L drivers
pricing / yield / spreads
