Job Title: Terminal Operator / Intermodal Equipment Operator
Job Type: Full-Time (Direct Hire)
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.55 per hour
Schedule: 2nd & 3rd Shift (Overtime Available)
Location: Columbus, OH
About the Role
Operate heavy equipment in an intermodal yard to support container movement and logistics operations
Play a key role in ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient handling of shipping containers
Work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment with consistent hours and overtime opportunities Key Responsibilities
Operate heavy equipment to load/unload containers from railcars and trucks
Drive hostlers to move containers and chassis throughout the yard
Use equipment such as top loaders, side loaders, and cranes for stacking and transport
Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality
Coordinate with team members and supervisors to execute daily yard operations
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment Qualifications
Prior experience operating heavy equipment or machinery preferred
Strong attention to safety and detail
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Comfortable performing physically demanding tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders and railcars as needed
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Must have a valid driver's license
Must pass background check, drug screening, and physical exam Preferred Qualifications
Experience in intermodal, rail yard, or logistics operations
Familiarity with hostlers, cranes, or container handling equipment
CDL or equipment certifications (a plus, not required) Schedule & Work Environment
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 12:00 AM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM
Schedule determined by seniority
Must be flexible for nights, weekends, and overtime Perks
