Mechanical Engineer III

What You Will Do:
Lead and support mechanical system design for building projects, including HVAC and related systems across a variety of project types
Develop detailed engineering drawings, system layouts, and technical specifications for assigned project components
Perform engineering calculations, load analyses, and system sizing to support design decisions
Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, coordinated design solutions
Prepare cost estimates, evaluate equipment selections, and review vendor submittals for compliance with project requirements
Support development of technical documentation, including evaluations of asset lifecycle expenses and assessments of facility conditions
Participate in field investigations, site visits, and data collection to support project execution
Assist in refining internal design standards, best practices, and engineering processes
Support and mentor junior engineering staff, contributing to team development and knowledge sharing
Engage in continuous learning to stay current with evolving technologies, codes, and industry trends
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Around 6-9 years of hands-on experience in mechanical system design for buildings and infrastructure
Fundamentals of Engineering certification required, with progression toward Professional Engineer licensure
Strong experience with engineering design software and modeling tools
Solid understanding of HVAC systems, building systems integration, and design methodologies
Ability to manage assigned project tasks independently while collaborating effectively with broader teams
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Willingness to participate in fieldwork and site evaluations as needed
