Job Description

A Collision Center Technician is responsible for repairing vehicles to a high standard, ensuring customer satisfaction, and meeting dealership productivity and efficiency standards. The technician works on vehicles of varying makes and models, all the while providing high-quality repair to damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.

Essential Duties

Perform work as outlined on the repair estimate with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards.

Check parts against the estimate and ensure proper parts have been ordered and received.

Notify Collision Center Manager of any additional repairs needed that were not identified on the original estimate and repair order.

Test drive vehicles as needed after repairs.

Keep current with manufacturer technical bulletins.

Operate all tools and equipment safely.

Participate in manufacturer, ASE, I-CAA, or other training programs as assigned by management.

Report machinery defects, malfunctions, and safety concerns to supervisor and/or management.

Cooperate and assist other personnel in the repair and preparation of vehicles.

Keep the shop area neat and clean.

Understand, comply, and keep current with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc., and follow all dealership safety programs.

Report any safety issues immediately to the Collision Center Manager.

Perform other duties as assigned and adapt as needed.

Work Environment

As part of the essential duties, this position requires operating equipment, motor vehicles, and working with hazardous, fatal materials. The employee’s essential duties are such that impairment caused by drug or alcohol could result in significant injury or death.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Over five years of related experience and/or training.

Must meet and maintain manufacturer certification at the Master level.

A valid Washington State Driver’s License or equivalent is required to support Collision Center operations at the dealership.

All licenses must be converted to a Washington State License within 30 days of employment.

Driving record in good standing.

Preferred Education and Experience and Qualifications

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications

Manufacturer Training

Ability to drive manual vehicles.

Experience in relating effectively with co-workers, supervisors, customers, vendors, and the general public.

2 years of experience in a fast-paced environment with deadlines.
