Project Overview
We are recruiting native speakers of Wolof, Pulaar, and Serer to support a high-priority audio transcription and annotation project. This initiative involves processing approximately 600 hours of audio content using a structured double-blind methodology to ensure maximum accuracy and consistency.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a large-scale language technology project while working remotely with flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Transcription & Validation
Independently transcribe audio files in your native language
Compare and validate parallel transcripts to produce a final “ground truth” version
Accurately capture linguistic nuances, dialects, and context
Annotation & Review
Perform entity tagging based on detailed client guidelines
Conduct speaker diarization (identify and label different speakers)
Complete full internal reviews to ensure quality before final QA
Requirements
Native fluency in Wolof, Pulaar, or Serer (written and spoken)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to follow structured linguistic and annotation guidelines
Comfortable using online transcription and annotation tools
Ability to maintain consistent quality across multiple work batches
