Essential Duties & Responsibilities (include, but not limited to)
This position operates in three phases, beginning with full-time preparatory work and transitioning into a hybrid role that combines classroom instruction with research, program growth, and multi-site implementation.
Under the supervision of the school principal, this position is responsible for the implementation of the Electromechanical Catalyst grant. Implementation includes preparatory work, program development, classroom instruction, research and data collection, and multi-site implementation.
Phase 1: During this phase, this employee will focus on the design, planning, and stakeholder engagement required to launch the program for the upcoming year; prepare the classroom; procure required equipment; establish an industry advisory council with local employers to identify workforce entry requirements and ensure program alignment; conduct analysis of regional workforce data to ensure the program addresses specific training gaps in the region; and curriculum development.
Phase 2: During this phase, the position transitions into a hybrid instructional and developmental role of lead instructor and research, needs assessment and growth. The employee will act as an instructor 50% of the time and will be responsible for instructional delivery teaching electromechanical pathway courses (electronics, robotics, manufacturing principles, and CTE internships); providing hands-on training to students in a laboratory setting; ensure students follow all classroom and lab safety procedures; evaluate student proficiency; provide academic support; and coordinate internships with industry partners. For the remaining 50% of their time, the employee will conduct research and needs assessments to evaluate local industry demand; identify and explore new partnerships for program growth and to secure support to maintain the program; collect and report data on student career choices; conduct a needs analysis for expanding the program to second school; and prepare a second site for roll out in 2027-2028.
Phase 3: During this phase, the position will transition into a district-wide instructional role, focusing on the simultaneous delivery of electromechanical technology instruction across two communities in San Juan School District. The employee will deliver the core curriculum, manage local industry internships with partners at both school sites, and coordinate professional mentors to provide students with direct career guidance and technical feedback at both school sites.
Salary
Placed on Licensed Salary Schedule.
Placement is determined by education level and years of experience. Experience credit will be awarded for the first ten (10) years of certified experience in an accredited school.

Full time, beginning as soon as possible and working throughout the summer to complete Phase 1.
Phases 2 and 3 will be full time and placed on a 183-day contract (teacher schedule).
