Required Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
Minimum 6 years of experience managing SQL Server databases (on-prem and cloud environments)
Minimum 6 years of experience configuring SQL services, including security, JDBC, and clustering
Minimum 6 years of experience planning, installing, and coordinating SQL Server releases, migrations, upgrades, and maintenance
Minimum 6 years of experience providing DBA support in multi-datacenter environments
Minimum 6 years of experience working with multiple database platforms, including Azure Cloud and Oracle
Minimum 6 years of experience supporting DevOps tools, including Ansible, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, Bitbucket, Kony Mobile, and Nginx
Strong experience with database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Strong knowledge of high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), clustering, replication, and log shipping
Experience with database design, capacity planning, and scalability
Experience supporting production and non-production environments
Strong technical leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
Experience working in virtualized environments across Unix, Linux, and AIX operating systems
Experience with database security protocols, patching, and compliance controls
Experience supporting cross-functional teams including network, IIS, and storage teams
Experience in technical documentation, project planning, and customer interaction
SQL Server Database Administrator Overview:
The SQL Server Database Administrator is responsible for managing, designing, and supporting enterprise database environments in a fast-paced and collaborative setting. This role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of SQL Server databases across on-premises and cloud environments. The DBA will work closely with cross-functional teams and other database administrators to deliver reliable and optimized database solutions while supporting development, deployment, and production operations. The role also includes providing technical leadership, driving innovation, and ensuring adherence to best practices in database architecture and management
Job Duties:
Provide DBA support for distributed SQL Server environments across multiple data centers
Monitor and optimize database performance, analyze issues, and implement solutions
Configure SQL services including security, clustering, and connectivity
Plan, install, and manage SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and maintenance
Build and manage database environments on virtual machines and cloud platforms
Collaborate with network, IIS, and storage teams for system configurations
Support application development teams with SQL design and programming guidance
Deploy code in production and non-production environments and troubleshoot issues
Support DevOps tools and CI/CD processes
Lead technical design, implementation, and maintenance discussions
Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions including clustering, replication, and log shipping
Perform database capacity planning and resource management
Identify inefficiencies and implement performance improvements
Ensure database security, patching, and compliance adherence
Provide Tier III support and lead incident resolution efforts
Develop technical documentation, project plans, and communicate with stakeholders
Mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership
Support project management efforts and ensure timely communication on deployments and upgrades
