Key Responsibilities:
Setup & Operation:
Read job tickets; set up, adjust, troubleshoot, and maintain envelope converting equipment
Operate machines for trial runs; measure product dimensions to ensure specifications
Dispense ink and maintain viscosities for color consistency
Mount plates using mounting tapes; set impressions, etch, and registration
Monitoring & Maintenance:
Detect malfunctions through observation and listening
Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive, emergency, and scheduled maintenance
Ensure guards and interlocks are operational
Team & Training:
Work closely with Machine Operators and Quality Control Coordinators
Train, coach, and develop operators and trainees
Direct operators during start-up, changes, and quality standards
Champion lean activities and process improvement
Documentation & Communication:
Maintain production records, equipment logs, set-up times, downtime, repairs, and QC data
Communicate effectively with incoming shift team members
Collaborate with Sales and Management on machine capabilities and timelines
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
1–3 years of related work experience (manufacturing, machine operation, or mechanical)
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting, pulling, pushing up to 60 lbs
Frequent standing, bending, twisting, turning, balancing, reaching; repetitive use of hands/wrists
Occasional crawling, crouching, climbing
Regular talking, hearing, and specific vision abilities
Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration
Loud noise level
