GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordinating, staff development training, and assessment of Career and Technical Education programs. The employee is responsible for keeping abreast of changing technology, and labor market trends to ensure that students are receiving the information necessary to prepare them for successful entry into a career, higher education, or the military. Develops and nurtures partnerships with schools, businesses, and our community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in education administration.
Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience in the Career and Technical education field.
Certification in Administration and Supervision PreK-12-Central Office Only or Administration and Supervision PreK-12. PREFERRED: A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
ESSENTIAL JOBS FUNCTIONS:
Coordinate and supervise the activities of schools to meet the standards and requirements of the Virginia Board of Education.
Organize and work with the CTE Advisory Committee and various program committees.
Provide for the follow-up of students exiting from the career and technical education program as early leavers or as graduates.
Assist in the preparation of the division and individual's school vocational education budget.
Coordinate the preparation of reports concerning status of local programs as required by state and federal regulations in cooperation with individual school administrators and/or coordinators.
Establish and supervise procedures for care, maintenance, inventory and purchase of equipment and materials in accordance with local, state and federal policies.
Promote a cooperative working relationship with employers of students, public officials, management, labor and other organizations in the community.
Plan and implement a continuous program of public information, which is designed to inform business and lay persons about the purposes, needs and scope of the vocational program.
Write, Administer, and Implement the Perkins Grant.
CTE Reports - SEDF Report, CTECC, CTFR, Reimbursements, CTE Credential Reimbursements.
New course application/research.
Coordinate with CTE Lead Teacher/Coordinator at High School for Reimbursements, use of funds, distribution of funds, CTE Advisory Meetings.
Approve and monitor Perkins funding, spending, and reimbursements.
Participates in the development, adoption, and implementation of curricula for CTE programs.
Representative for Region VIII on VACTEA Board
Supervise coordination of CTE Advisory Meeting.
Perform other duties as required by the Superintendent. REQUIREMENTS:
Transcripts - Applicants must provide both undergraduate and graduate transcripts; unofficial transcripts are acceptable with the application.
References - Applicants must submit two (2) written references; references should be from a current or previous supervisor. References from a supervising teacher or professor are acceptable when there is no relevant prior work history. Successful outcomes of the following background investigations/tests are required before any offer of employment can be finalized:
