This position supports warehouse receiving operations and plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely inventory flow into the facility. The Shift Receiving Warehouse Team Member focuses on validating inbound freight, maintaining inventory accuracy, and performing physical material handling to keep operations efficient and prevent downstream errors. The role combines hands-on warehouse work with detailed verification and system transactions, requiring strong attention to detail, consistency, and adherence to established processes.

Responsibilities

Receive and validate inbound shipments by checking product against purchase orders and delivery documentation.

Count inbound inventory accurately and verify quantities, descriptions, and item codes against system records.

Identify, document, and communicate any discrepancies, damages, or issues found during receiving.

Complete RF scanner transactions and system check-ins to ensure accurate and timely inventory updates.

Build, wrap, and stage pallets safely and efficiently for storage or further processing.

Unload freight from trailers or trucks using safe material handling practices.

Follow established receiving procedures and standard operating processes consistently.

Double-check counts, labels, and documentation to maintain high levels of receiving accuracy.

Maintain inventory integrity through careful handling, labeling, and placement of received goods.

Support warehouse productivity and order fulfillment accuracy by keeping receiving areas organized and efficient.

Read and interpret purchase orders and related documentation to ensure proper receipt of goods.

Document receipts clearly and legibly in systems or on required forms.

Communicate issues, discrepancies, or process concerns promptly to appropriate team members or leadership.

Work collaboratively with other warehouse teams such as shipping, picking, and packing to support overall operations.

Adhere to all safety guidelines and safe work practices while performing physical material handling and equipment use.

Essential Skills

Minimum 2+ years of warehouse experience, with receiving experience strongly preferred.

2+ years of experience in a physically demanding warehouse role involving regular lifting and material handling.

Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, unload freight, and build pallets throughout the shift.

1–2 years of experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems to process receipts or inventory transactions.

Demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy in counting, checking, and documenting inventory.

Ability to follow established receiving procedures and adhere to standardized processes.

Basic communication skills, including the ability to read purchase orders and clearly document receipts and issues.

Experience in roles requiring written or system-based documentation of work performed.

Accountability, reliability, and consistent attendance in prior warehouse or production roles.

Comfort working in a warehouse setting and around manufacturing or production environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT), such as forklifts or double riders, preferred but not required.

Previous pick/pack, order picking, or order selecting experience is a plus.

Experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse inventory, or material handling is beneficial.

Experience in warehouse pick/pack operations or retail store backroom receiving is advantageous.

Strong focus, consistency, and ability to maintain accuracy under varying inbound volumes.

Comfort using technology and data entry tools to support accurate inventory control.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment that supports receiving, inventory control, and related operations. The position follows a day shift schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, providing a consistent four-day workweek. Work involves regular physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, unloading freight, and building pallets. Team members use RF scanners and warehouse systems to process receipts and maintain inventory accuracy. The facility operates with a focus on safe work practices and organized material flow, and typical warehouse attire suitable for physical, hands-on work is expected.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lockbourne, OH.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
